Hasbro sent a Cease and Desist letter to Fighting is Magic, a fan NON-PROFIT project that I’m sure a lot of you know about. If you don’t, just google it up.

Like, okay, wow, okay. Wow. So  this is like a prime example of what I mean when I talk about the lack of self-awareness and perspective that bronies have.

I feel the guys at Hasbro are acting quite like jerks in these last months.

Really now.

First they censore Derpy

Yeah, I remember that. Derpy talked like she had a mental disorder and showed physical signs of one as well. Another character did as well, but no bronies gave a fuck about him because they didn’t use Snails as a representative agent of how much Hasbro loves the fandom. Then there were all the death threats and transphobic slurs the brony community leveled at Yamino. That was REAL COOL.

Nevermind that maybe people outside the fandom might have had a problem with Derpy. Oh, no, that’s impossible. But they should totally keep a character people find offensive in the show because people outside the target demographic made her their mascot.

put an Alicorn Twilight in the show just to promote and sell a stupid toy

THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE ENTIRE SHOW.

TO SELL TOYS.

HASBRO IS A TOY COMPANY.

And that’s not even the start of the real problem with Alicorn Twilight. But hey, bronies completely lack any perspective, so…

LACK OF PERSPECTIVE. The brony community will never be Hasbro’s priority. Their target audience is 6 - 11 year old girls.

And now they make desist total fan-non-profit-projects.

Which, as much as you may find this hard to believe, they have every right to do! They’re using trademarked characters in a way that could be seen as defamatory to the brand and the core ideals of the product they are producing. You may not like it, but they had every right to do this.

This, from my point of view, it’s unacceptable.

They still don’t realize they’re making the success they’re making because of Bronies.

No, bronies are not the reason MLP is still a success. The fact that it’s the least terrible show for the 6-11 demographic functioning as an advertisement for a massive toy line is! They make money because of the amount of toys they are selling to LITTLE GIRLS. The bronies could be wiped off the face of the earth (oh but a girl can dream) and Hasbro would still be making bank! This is why they don’t target you!
