I read through the Dominic Deegan webcomic’s archives and drink when I encounter clichés. I will probably die.
Yeah so something might be happening.
Not worth talking about.
This will happen in the next few months. Mid-February if we’re lucky! :P
FYI I don’t dislike you or anything but your response to criticism is holding you back as a person.
Apparently people are angry with me on Tumblr for posting research about having an alklaline pH helping with a cancer cure regimen, and the regimen I suggested should be mary jane oil. I essentially told them to give up hamburgers and smoke pot if they have cancer, so shit got real. lol. They’re…
Housefires also go out naturally, just give it enough time!
What do you mean housefires spread further if we don’t put them out? Houses have systems that regulate room temperature, that means that they can totally rid themselves of fire.
The point is, FUCK Big Fire Department (tm), those government-funded chuckle fucks are probably sitting on the cure for the common house fire, seeing if they can make a buck on it first.
Everyone knows the best way to treat a house fire is open up all your faucets and flush the toilet all at once to balance out the water pressure in the water pipes.
Don’t listen to Big Firehose!! My spiritual guide performs acupuncture and Crystal Firefighting on my house every month, and now I’m barely bothered by the licking flames and thick acrid smoke drawing steadily towards me
I think we’re not tackling the problem from the right angle, guys
Let’s pray for rain.
I’m being cyber bullied in 2014 by people who want to crucify me for sharing research on marijuana curing and treating some peoples’ cancer? I think I’ve come to recognize that much of Tumblr represents the pariahs of society who have nothing better to do than try to hurt other peoples’ feelings because their levels of inadequacy and self-love are lower than the tactics they use to put others down.
I appreciate all these tears, friend, but this is a fucking house fire we got here.
Maybe we could form a bucket brigade, stand by the house and think of sad kittens or something.
Sam, my dear friend, you’ve fallen for big pope and the feline global purriarchy’s lies. Prayers and kitten thoughts do jack shit, what we need is a traditional pagan ritual to appease the spirits of the upper ether that they will urinate upon us all in a golden shower of spiritual energy cleansing the bad vibes and driving the mischievous but sadly destructive spirits of flame and smoke from our houses. My Celtic blood has revealed to me the mysteries of such a ritual which I can share with you for a good bottle of single malt whisky, none of that cheap crap we’re talking at least aged 18 years, preferably Talisker or Edradour.
just want y’all to know this is all beautiful
Lmao. Trolls have always been creative creatures, but they usually lack human empathy. Animals are their only friends it seems. Typical human beings can’t stand the bullshit that comes out of their mouths in the attempt for attention to make themselves feel welcomed by a community. It’s funny to me what lengths people will go to for attention because they think people will find it funny. It’s usually at the expense of the person they’re ridiculing, but in Journalism I was taught a great philosophy. “Bad publicity is good publicity.”
ahahahahahaha look at this fucking asshole with no sense of perspective or dignity
A sense of Dignity.. hm… I don’t have it?
"I am incapable of making arguments on the merits of my opinion, so I have resorted to inane, text-only images that I made myself that attack the people who criticise me for criticising me."
We’ve moved away from Kiora having a last name in official materials. Unknown to us at the time of Kiora’s debut in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012, the meaning of the word “atua” in Maori (the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand) refers to concepts that some consider sacred in Maori culture. Since “Kiora” already sounds very close to a Maori greeting (“kia ora”), some assumed—reasonably, I think—that the connection to Maori terms was the intent. Given the spiritual significance of the meaning, we felt the name choice was, in retrospect, not appropriate.
I’m sorry about that. We messed up.
So when it came time to create Kiora’s card, we saw an opportunity to change course on her surname, and decided that the best course of action was to drop it altogether.
We often seek inspiration from real-world cultures in the course of dreaming up Magic worlds, and we sometimes look to linguistic phonemes from real-world languages for naming Magic characters. But it’s never our intent to misappropriate or misapply terms or concepts that are foundational to people’s real-world spiritual beliefs. We’re happy whenever Magic can expose players to styles of fantasy that are inspired by mythologies and cultures other than Western fantasy’s traditional roots. But if we learn that any of our worlds, terms, or characters disrespectfully tread on the sincere beliefs of our fellow humans in contemporary, living cultures, we feel it’s important to take steps to correct that as best we can.
That’s why we have chosen not to list a last name for Kiora on her card and in the Born of the Gods Planeswalker’s Guide entry. We also do not intend to refer to Kiora as having a last name in official creative contexts going forward. Her name is Kiora. Thanks!
People on the internet are dumb, and I’m gonna explain why:
People who frequent this website are happy to make jokes regarding people’s race, religion, sexuality, etc, but being sheltered nerds on the internet, they take their jokes way too far. This leads to them coming off as a bunch of racist, sexist, homophobic bigots. If you try and call them out on this behaviour, they’ll get crazy-defensive, and dismiss you as an SJW.
People who frequent this website want to be progressive and politically correct, but being sheltered nerds on the internet, they are way too sensitive and easily offended. This leads to them making a mockery of serious human rights issues by screaming about shit like “privilege” and “triggers” (these are really unhealthy by the way - therapy is how you should deal with traumatic experiences, not living in a bubble and expecting everyone else to censor themselves). If you try to call them out on this behaviour, they’ll get crazy-defensive, and dismiss you as an MRA.
Obviously, the two groups described above don’t get along. But if either of them collectively went outside for once, picking up on social norms and mannerisms, they could become…
This elusive group of people, (who don’t spend all their time on the internet) are capable of having a lighthearted joke about race, religion, sexuality, etc. But they don’t actually discriminate or give people shit for any of those things (unless they’re a legit dickhead).
And when a normal person is offended by a joke made at their expense, they don’t get ANGRY or TRIGGERED about it. They’ll just say something along the lines of “Hey, I’m not comfortable hearing jokes about [topic]”, to which the other person says “Okay, sorry”. And then the both of them immediately resume whatever boring shit they were doing.
Internet, if you could all act more like normal people, that’d be great.
Also if I’m wrong in any of these assessments, it’s because I have better shit to do than spend all day bickering with internet nerds.
This is, honestly, an incredibly bad argument, in support of a classic equivalence fallacy. It borders on being disingenuous, but I’ll assume you’re being sincere here.
You split the internet into these two extremes, Redditors and SJWs, and in doing so you equate the two groups. This suggests that they’re somehow equally bad; it’s the typical “South Park” argument that the truth lies somewhere in the middle (“Normal People”, as you call it).
But by doing this, do you realize that you’re saying social justice is both the extreme opposite of bigotry, and also as bad as bigotry is? This is a false equivalence here. The SJW you describe (which is a strawman, but I’ll get to that later) ultimately only annoys people on the internet. Otherkin, people who want ludicrously specific trigger tags, people who are overly sensitive to the topic of race; who do these people hurt? A few hundred, maybe a few thousand, and only a minor irritation. Redditors, on the other hand, are both products of and contributors towards a culture of misogyny, homophobia, and racism. Can you honestly argue that people who want POC in Frozen are hurting people in our society the same way these people are?
Furthermore, you lump in SJWs all in one circle as people who universally overreact to what you consider minor irritations. While I also think you’re being unfair here in not considering the potential good trigger warnings can do, my main focus here is that you’re categorizing the entirety of people who support social justice, who want to change the status quo, as people with incredibly minor quibbles. What about people working to raise awarenss of transgender homelessness? What about people trying to reform our racist prison system, or the conception that all POC should be suspected of robbery? You’re putting all of these diverse ideologies into one group, and effectively saying they’re the same as the people who want more bigotry, who want more male supremacy in the world. And what you’ve positioned as the right answer, being a “normal person”, is someone who supports the status quo and doesn’t try to change things. Your argument rests on your pre-decision that things are good enough as they are now, and trying to change them for the better is as bad as trying to make things worse.
Finally, there’s this: “Also if I’m wrong in any of these assessments, it’s because I have better shit to do than spend all day bickering with internet nerds.”. Frankly, that’s bullshit. You had enough time to write this, so don’t make this disingenuous disclaimer saying that if you’re wrong about these things, it’s just because you’re too cool. That’s some high school shit right there.
I really dislike this modern ‘anti-SJW’ movement which labels anyone standing up for themselves or others as ‘SJW’ - this kind of bullshit is what far-right Conservatives do with their bullshit ‘liberal media’ claims. It’s not SJW to call racist behaviour racist. It’s not SJW to call a rape apologist a shithead. It’s called normal goddamn behaviour.
There’s a difference between social justice advocates and the rightfully-mocked social justice warriors who take any and all opportunities to fight for the rights of people who don’t give a shit. MRAs are definitely a weird form of the latter entirely made up of conservative chumpnuggets who want to feel oppressed so they stop feeling so bad.
